Update
Yoober 1.0.3: auto-update, library preview, and sturdier downloads
Packaged macOS and Windows builds can update in-app, the library gains thumbnails and a detail preview, and YouTube downloads are more reliable.

Yoober 1.0.3 is the current desktop release. GitHub Releases hosts the installers; this site remains the canonical place for project news.
App updates
Signed macOS and Windows builds check for updates on launch (Settings → Updates). Linux stays a website download. The feed lives on update.yoober.app.
Library
- Thumbnails in the list and a large detail preview with Play
- Whisper for items without captions, including multi-select Whisper (N)
- Copy transcript on the detail pane
- Settings → Data → Delete all data… to wipe local SQLite (optional library-folder delete)
Transcription
“Get transcript after download” is now Transcribe after download: on by default, always Whisper. YouTube captions remain a manual job-card action. Queue and history status show the engine — CPU, CUDA, Apple Silicon, or OpenAI API.
Downloads
- Jobs no longer sit on “starting…” forever — extraction logs surface on the card
- YouTube HTTP 403 around 30% progress auto-retries once
- WebM writes a sidecar thumbnail instead of failing on embed-thumbnail
On the development branch, Yoober can also keep yt-dlp current from GitHub stable releases, with rollback to the bundled copy.
